To What Do You Run?

We are all running toward something.
We are all pressing ahead towards our dreams.
When we are feeling down we run to what we think will make us happy.
When life doesn't go our way we want something to cheer us up.
We want something to help with the pain.
Whether it be a fantasy, a shopping spree, a food bindge, we want something to numb the hurt that threatens to overwhelm.
Whatever you run to will control you.
So run towards God.
Run towards the only One that can satisfy.
Run towards our true Comfort.
Run to the God who saves.
Run to Him.
Let Him be all that you need.

To See Beyond

Right now we are going through a unique time. There are many challenges that we are facing as a result of of the Coronavirus. I've shed some tears in the last few weeks over some of the temporary losses and struggles.
But friends our God is so good. He invites us to fix our eyes on a time beyond this present moment. A time when we will stand before Him whole and complete. A time when He will wipe away every tear from our eyes. A time when pain will be a distant memory not a present reality. A time when we will be truly free.
Right now we ache because of what's going on. We want things to be different and we seek relief from the pain. Know that God walks with us in this time. He aches with us. Oh but friend, He also longs for us to look beyond our present to see the glory that awaits us. So let us see the beauty of Christ. Let us fix our eyes on the One who is all glorious. Let us turn our eyes to the our Great and Powerful King.
He alone will heal and restore us. He alone is worthy of praise. He alone will work wonders we could never imagine.
Today let us look beyond our present ache to see His glory. He walks with us through this and will guide us through to a better tomorrow filled with His love and presence. Let us hold onto Him and keep walking. We are safe and loved in His hands. Our future is secure. Let us keep walking.

Scars And Tattoos

I have scars.
Scars on my heart from the past.
Scars from sins.
Scars from memories.
Scars that remind me of things I can't undo.
I wish scars were as cool as tattoos.
If you have a tattoo, many see you as cool.
Many think you are brave.
Tattoos set you apart.
They tell a story.
They share a message.
They mark their owner.
But scars are different from tattoos. Sometimes I have showed others my scars.
Some wince.
Some run.
Some ask questions.
Some want to know what happened.
Some want to know the story.
Because where there is a scar there was once a wound.
There was once pain.
There was once blood.
There was once choas.
But it didn't stay that way.
By God's grace and tender care a change took place.
With time the wound became a scar.
With love the wound lost its sting.
So when I show my scars I can tell a story.
A story of love.
A story of healing.
A story of pain turned to joy.
A story of God.
My scars may never be cool.
But they will be a testemant to God's grace.
So I will continue to show my scars.
Not because they are cool, but because they tell a story of grace.

New Beginnings

Source I enjoy this time of year. I have a few things that I always try to work into the last week of the year. Things like deep...
